let's bring him home!!

Shannon said its been two years since her husband, a wounded soldier has been home.

So today two friends and colleges of mine, Jan Jordon of ReBuilding Together/Atlanta and Dale Contant a Contractor Member of NARI/Atlanta met with Mark's wife, Shannon and their two year old daughter, Journey today at the Allen Family home in Loganville.

Mark's son is living with his natural mother until the family can be reunited.

I invited Jan & Dale to the meeting first and foremost to assist in bringing Mark home sooner. You see, as I understand it, NARI/National had recently decided to join with ReBuilding Together/ National as a recognized community outreach organization that the local chapters can plug into.
Me also being a NARI Member I support the affiliation and know that across the country it will really make a big impact in helping the lives of many people in need and giving an outlet for our members to become involved in ways they may not have previously.
I'm doubly excited because the Atlanta Fuller Center has worked with the NARI/Atlanta Chapter and individual members on projects in the past and ongoing projects and also is collaborating on other projects with ReBuilding Together and now all three organization will be working on a single project together.
Kind of the expanded version of Millard Fuller's book, 'The Theology of the Hammer', huh!!

We found out today from Shannon that the VA Grant the Allen Family has been waiting on was FINALLY approved, now they're just waiting on the rest of the procedures to actually procure funding for most of the needed modifications and that's where we come in (and you).
The Grant is not enough to cover the costs of the needed modifications so we want to volunteer and raise donations to cover the deficiency from what the approved VA contractor has submitted as needed for Mark's long term care and mobility around his home. I know with everyone's help we can easily do it. The first step is to help spread the word. Please get involved in some way, even if its only reposting this...
